Torille!

Torille! / Winner!     –     Architecture & Design Museum Helsinki
The exhibition presents the winner and finalists of the architectural competition for the new Architecture and Designmuseum to be built in Helsinki. It examines the competition’s many stages and invites the audience to both explore the winning entry and to offer ideas for its development.
The exhibition architecture started with an idea of the iconic orange Helsinki marketplace cafe tents which are places for encounters and conversations. The exhibition structures underline the idea of a work in progress by utilizing typical construction materials – concrete, CLT and reinforced steel bar. The existing museum space transforms into the new space through interior renders that fill the walls from floor to ceiling. The architectural drawings and additional material can be found in large books which are big enough to be studied by more than one person at a time.
